Why call them “habits”?
I read somewhere lately that feeling happier and better in our life has something to do with getting new habits.
I agree with this! The hardest part is to build new habits and to keep them over time.
I’m working on this part 😉 and I’ll come back to you with a plan.
But for now, let’s dive into this and let’s work on our epic life!!
What are these habits?
Listen more.
Let’s listen more than we talk. When you’re sitting with someone, try to really be there with this person, listen to what she has to say, what she’s sharing with you. And no need to always give advice :), sometimes, you can just be there, giving 100% of your attention and I can tell you, this person will always thank you for that! 🙂
Take time for yourself.
We love being busy and we always are. Sometimes, it’s also amazing to take a night off (or a day off if possible 😉 ) and to simply take time for yourself. Stay at home and have a bath, go shopping all by yourself, go for a walk, it doesn’t matter what as long as you are taking time to be alone and to feel good about it!
Read something.
I’m not the kind of person who’s reading a book every week! I don’t like to force it, I’m taking as much time as I need to read a book, but I like it and I think that we could all use a bit of time (even 10 minutes per day!) to read something. It doesn’t matter what it is as long as it’s benefiting us in a way that nothing else is 🙂
I love reading books about personal development. You can read fiction books, magazines… The choice is yours!
Eat healthier and less at night.
The funny part here is that I love “less healthy” food if you know what I mean 😉 but I know that I feel better when I’m eating healthy. It doesn’t need to be every day all green on my plate, but I guess that a tendency to healthy food can only do good! And yes. You will sleep much better if you don’t eat too much at night and not too late!
Sleep more.
know that this sounds silly but it will really change your life! It’s the first habit that we all should create and maintain to create our dream life. If we don’t sleep enough, everything looks dark and we don’t feel like doing anything…
What do you need help with?

Spend more time doing what you like to do.
First, you need to figure it out: what is it that you like doing? Painting? Watching movies? Crafting? Try to think about something that you like to do and try to plan it in your calendar time to do more of what makes you happy. Again, it sounds a bit silly, but you will be surprised how good this will make you feel!
Create lists.
I think that we should all create 3 lists:
– a list of things we like about us
– a bucket list
– a to-do list
You can create a lot of other lists but you can already start with these ones and have a better view of what’s going on in your life and what do you want from it.
Say “no” more.
I know that this isn’t easy at all, but you always need to think that when you say “no” to someone or something, it’s because you are saying “yes” to something else. So try to put boundaries and to respect yourself. What is really important to you? What will happen if you’re not going there tonight? What do you really prefer doing?
Keep your home organized.
You can easily feel overwhelmed and tired of having a home that isn’t organized. And I’m not talking about the fact that you will take less time finding the things that you may have lost 😉 . Keep it clean and organized and you’ll find yourself more peaceful and quiet.
Start (or continue) a personal development journey.
Of course that I would suggest this 😉 I think that everyone should take care of himself but also, get to know himself/herself better. How can live happier when we don’t even know what truly makes us happy and who we really are?! 🙂
