Your brain has got to brain!!
But… Sometimes, you wish you could stop some of these sneaky thoughts that are coming up!!
Let’s have a look deeper at which ones I’m talking about and what to do when they’re popping up and stopping us completely!!

What thoughts exactly?!
I realized while coaching my clients this past month that… We really all have these sneaky thoughts coming up!!
And it’s important to talk about them because they ARE stopping us!!
Let’s first have a look at a few examples.
The thoughts that I’m talking about are the ones that create emotions of insecurity and hopelessness for example, such as:
- “You’re never going to succeed at this”
- “You’ve never been consistent at this so you never will!”
- “You probably didn’t do enough…”
- “You’re probably not good enough…”
The reason why these thoughts are popping to us is because our brain wants to keep us alive.
By offering these thoughts, our brain wants to make sure we are not putting ourselves out there, not taking any action, not maybe dying!!!
To your brain it’s all that simple: Let’s say it offers you the thought “you’ve never been consistent at going to the gym so you never will”.
How do you react, what do you do when you think this thought? Probably you don’t feel too much like going to the gym, right?!
Which is in your humble brain’s opinion, keeping you safe!!
So, by offering you this thought “you’ve never been consistent at going to the gym so you never will”, your brain thinks it kept you safe in the past so… Why not offer it again and keep you safe AGAIN?
Don’t forget that your brain’s job is to keep you safe, always!! It’s slightly exaggerating right, nothing will happen if you go to the gym…!
Thinking those thoughts? You’re normal!!
You probably didn’t look at it this way until now but…
If you ever had one of more than one of these following thoughts popping up in your heads such as:
- “You’re never going to succeed at this”
- “You’ve never been consistent at this so you never will!”
- “You probably didn’t do enough…”
- “You’re probably not good enough…”
YOU ARE NORMAL!!
This is GOOOD NEWWWS!!! Right?!
By offering you these thoughts, your brain is showing us that it’s perfectly A+++ productive and efficient at its job: To keep you safe!!
So, you have a perfectly and healthy brain!! You can go to bed relaaaax tonight thinking that even if you don’t like thinking these thoughts, you can recognize how amazing your brain is and how accurate it is at doing its job…!
Now… What to do when it happens after that joyful moment of being grateful for a healthy brain… (This moment does not last, unfortunately!)
What to do exactly when they are popping up?
And they will!!
Because again, without or with repeating myself, because your brain got to brain!
So, the way to go is this one:
CATCH the thought!!
Just try with 1 and only 1 thought today.
Take for example “You’re maybe not good enough”…
When you realize that you think this (you can do this!!), just take a second to realize that it’s just a sentence, it’s a few words next to each other.
Say to yourself something like “Ahhh, “You’re maybe not good enough” is just a sentence? Just a thought? How many words? Let’s count them! 6 words next to each other? I can do that! I can just look at this thought like a cloud that is passing in the sky.”
And the most important here… I don’t have to believe that it’s true!!
Because… Again… Realize this: How do you show up, what do you do when you think “I’m maybe not good enough”…? I guess not very confident and not very empowered to do something, right?!
