I had conversations with people recently who told me they would love to try coaching out or they have just one problem they wanted help with!
So I said to myself: Let’s do this!! Let’s offer a single one on one lighting coaching session!!
No strings attached, just for the fun, just for the experience because why not?!
Curious about coaching?! Look at these amazing examples!
I want to show you a bit of what’s going on during a coaching session.
For example, someone shared with me that in some situations, they have this thought “I’m not sure I’m good enough”…
Often, I would then ask them in what situation exactly so we can get a clear example and it’s more tangible!
That person was sharing with me that they’re not sure they’re good enough being a parent…
As I mentioned, I absolutely LOVE asking empowering questions!
So, I may ask this person: What is good enough?
What does good enough look like?
When would you know when you’ll be a “good enough” parent?
Why does it matter, to be “good enough”?
Can we look at our past and see that it always has been good enough?
We really play around with that idea of what good enough looks like and also, very important and sooo interesting, we talk about how thinking this thought and believing it “I’m not sure I’m good enough” is impacting the way this person is in that moment, how it impacts their life…
Just imagine yourself right now: How does a person feel and act when they think this thought “I’m not sure I’m good enough”?
It’s fascinating! And so empowering!!
Together, we discover how much our thoughts, what we are thinking influences our life, and how much, if we want to, we can decide to believe something else, if it’s not serving us! 🙂
And as I always say, we look at all of this from a place of compassion and curiosity.
We never know what we don’t know!!
We NEVER use this work against ourselves, we simply don’t because there are no upsides!!
Second example!
You know how I always say that coaching is all about changing big things by working on the everyday things, so it’s always very useful to find what’s happening in specific situations of our day-to-day life!
Let’s have a look at another example, you’re going to love it!! Examples always make things clearer!!
A simple and clear example that I coach people on a lot is when they are describing themselves but in a way that isn’t serving them.
For example, a client recently told me “I’m such a perfectionist, it’s been really hard”.
So, we look at a specific situation, a moment in their life when they thought that thought.
I then ask questions about what’s happening in that moment, what they’re thinking and how they’re feeling when they think this thought.
We always act from an emotion we are feeling!
So, it’s important to first pay attention to what we are thinking. This thinking generates an emotion and drives an action.
We behave and take action in the world FROM what we are thinking and feeling!
So, for this person, it was very eye-opening for her to see what thinking the thought “I’m such a perfectionist, it’s been really hard” was creating for her.
When she believed that thought to be true, she felt hopeless.
Then, it’s interesting to see how she’s behaving when she feels hopeless because of thinking this thought “I’m such a perfectionist, it’s been really hard”.
As you can see, it ALWAYS comes down to something we are THINKING.
Which is SO EMPOWERING! It means that if we want to change something in our lives, we’ve got to look at what we are thinking! 🙂
And we do NOT need to change anything or anyone in the world to feel genuinely better!
It’s so freeing!
The only thing that will always makes us feel better and feel more confident is what we are THINKING!
And it’s always, 1000% in our control.
