We spend time with other people!
That’s usually a fact (even if it can be A LOT of time for some people and less time for others).
We are listening to them so we can get influenced by what they are saying.
Today, I want you to pay attention to borrowing their thoughts or not!
I’ll dig a bit into this… Get ready for this!!
Don’t believe everything you think!
So, you know how much I say that we should not believe everything we think, right?
I like to say that it’s not because we think something that it means that it’s necessarily true!
So… It’s the same with other people’s thoughts.
And I’m going to give you examples of it, it will be easier!
What other people are saying…
No matter what conversation you’re having with other people, these amazing people surrounding you may say things, make comments or remarks such as:
- You’ve got to struggle before getting somewhere!
- Losing weight is so hard!
- Time is passing so fast!
- We are soon too old to do anything.
- We have everything to be happy.
- Money doesn’t grow on trees!
This was just a very short list! 😉
Here, the question is not necessarily if you agree on not with what they are sharing.
Of course, debating is something that I absolutely LOVE and it’s also important to me to be open-minded, to have an opinion but also to be interested in someone else’s opinion!
My point of today is actually to listen to what people are saying, all the examples I gave you, and to then ask yourself if you believe that it’s true and if it’s serving you to believe that it’s true or not!
For example, do you believe that “you’ve got to struggle before getting somewhere!”
Imagine sitting with someone and they are telling you this.
You do not need to convince them of the opposite!
But just to be aware of what they are saying for YOU, if it sounds true, if it could be helpful to believe this to be true, or if actually, you would not benefit too much from believing that “you’ve got to struggle before getting somewhere!”
Imagine you trying to eat healthier.
Do you want to rely on the thought “you’ve got to struggle before getting somewhere!”?
Just take a minute to think about it! 🙂
The next conversation you’ll have!
Pay attention to the next conversation you’ll have.
It goes like this:
1. People are talking, you’re talking.
2. Listen and care genuinely for what they are sharing.
3. Be super open-minded, no need to convince somebody, pay attention to what they are sharing.
4. Question if there are benefits to believing what they are sharing.
What they are sharing are actually some truths that they believe to be true!
Consider that it can be true to believe them and useful but also, question if it ACTUALLY IS something that you want to believe to be true or not!
Do you remember the examples:
- You’ve got to struggle before getting somewhere!
- Losing weight is so hard!
- Time is passing so fast!
- We are soon too old to do anything.
- We have everything to be happy.
- Money doesn’t grow on trees!

To sum up!
As you can see, you’re not the only one having 60’000 thoughts per day!
Everybody else does too!
And since you know that what you think isn’t necessarily true, it’s an interpretation of reality, so, the consequence is that what other people are thinking is also an interpretation of reality!!
So… Do not buy into everything someone is saying, when you think about it, it’s just a few words next to each other!
It doesn’t mean anything until we believe it does! 😉
