Let’s dive right in!
What are you thinking?
Of course that I’m going to start with this!
Are you aware of what you are thinking?
As I always say, human beings, we have more than 60’000 thoughts per day!
Obviously, some of them are unconscious! Because of the fact that the brain likes to be efficient.
So, just like driving a car or pouring yourself a glass of water, it knows what to do next because it “saved it” to save you time and energy in the future.
The problem is that your brain also saved thoughts and actions that aren’t serving you!
And sometimes, it can be challenging to stop thought and action patterns!
This is why the best is to first pay attention to what you are thinking.
Just stop what you’re doing and look at the thoughts you’re having, from a place of compassion and curiosity.
Don’t believe everything you think!
This is a quote that I absolutely love: Do not believe everything you think!
When you’re going to look at what you are thinking, you might be tempted to judge what you find, you’ll realize you’re thinking something that you don’t really want to!
And will maybe think “Why am I thinking this?! I don’t want that!” and then, you may add on top of that thought another thought-judgment!
Instead, be compassionate with what you’re going to find. All of your thoughts are valid and legitimate.
Take just one thought you’ve been thinking and consider that you don’t have to believe, it’s valid, but it’s not necessarily true.
Is it true?
I absolutely love that question of Byron Katie.
No matter what you are thinking, ask yourself: Is that true?
And then, emphasize it by asking yourself again: Is that really true?
Now, you realize maybe that not everybody would agree on that thought!
So, at first, you can just question it by asking yourself: Is that true?
You don’t have to do anything! 🙂
And by asking yourself this, your brain will actually consider the fact that it’s not necessarily as true as you think it is and that you don’t have to believe it.
Not believing everything you think = boosting your confidence!
You’ll see that no matter what you’re thinking, by asking yourself “Is that true?“, you’re going to realize that not everything you’re thinking is necessarily true.
And then, you can see for yourself if thinking that thought is serving you or not.
By doing that, you’re going to feel more in control of the way you’re thinking and by extension, with the way you’re acting and showing up in this world.
Let’s remind ourselves that our thoughts are the basis of all the results that we have in our life.
It commands everything! 🙂
So, without adding too much pressure ;), I want to simply show you how much paying attention to the thoughts that you have can help you in feeling more in control and as I always say, when we feel in control, we are boosting our confidence!
To sum up!
So, pay attention to what you are thinking and ask yourself if what you are thinking is true?
You don’t have to do anything!
Simply, raise awareness and take the time to question it.
You’ll be surprised by what you’re going to find and how much influence it has on being more confident! 🙂
