It really seems like the title is itself very self-explanatory!
But let me tell you more about this and how the impact can change everything for them AND for you (of course, I care about you the most!!)

It’s all about emotions! Info #1
If you’ve been here long enough (and if you don’t, welcome!! There is a start to everything!!), you probably know that I say (so many words to say NOTHING!) that no matter what we do in life, every action we take is taken so that we can FEEL an emotion.
For example, you spend that quality time with this friend, think of what emotion you would feel. Joy? Fun? Connection?
No matter what we do, it’s always because we think we’re going to feel a certain way.
The opposite is also very true: Every action we are NOT taking is because of an emotion we do NOT want to feel…
A famous and very talking example is the one about going to the gym!
We may feel tired, and dread going to the gym! So we choose not to go so we DO NOT have to feel those emotions!
This is already something amazing to think of: No matter what you’re doing and what you’re NOT doing, it’s because of a way you’re going to feel (or a way you don’t want to feel).

When it comes to emotions, it’s also very important to mention that you probably realized yourself that sometimes, you’re feeling good and sometimes, less good.
Often and I talk about this with my clients A LOT, we think that if we don’t feel good, something must be going on with us!
We have everything to be happy we think, so we shouldn’t complain, we shouldn’t feel bad!
Actually I tend to agree that complaining for a long time isn’t very helpful but when it comes to feeling bad, it is 1000% okay to feel negative or in other words, uncomfortable emotions from time to time.
Why is that?! Our brain is wired for survival! So, in every moment, it will look for danger to keep us safe!
This is why we have negative thoughts so often!
So, the very first step today is to turns toward acceptance to feeling these “negative” (uncomfortable emotions).
And to remind ourselves that our brain is working perfectly! It’s trying to keep us safe!
We have negative emotions because of what we are THINKING, always.
And we don’t always have to change what we’re thinking or try to “fix us”, we can just sit in that emotion, and process it in 90 seconds only.
It’s totally normal and quite ordinary to have a negative emotion.
The way to go here is to name the emotion, localize it in our body and to tell ourselves that this emotion is part of life, it’s okay to feel it, it’s okay to process it, and that we can “do” that emotion, we can do that, we were made for this!!
For example, feeling stressed!
I’ll share with you the experience of feeling stressed because this is the emotion I’ve been feeling lately!
The emotion “stress” that I feel is generated by the thought “There’s so much to do”!
I feel the stress all over my chest. It’s moving like a tornado, quite fast and the color is grey. It’s kind of hot and cold and it’s moving and sometimes, I’m afraid that paying attention like this will make me feel like this forever!!
I welcome this emotion, it reminds me that I’m a human being, it’s just an emotion even if it’s quite impressive to process it, truly.
I then say “this is stress. The emotion of stress is part of life. I can do that emotion. Nothing has gone wrong with me. It’s okay. This too shall pass. I’m okay. I was made for this, even if it’s not pleasant, it’s okay.”
Of course, I don’t process every emotion that I feel every single day! But I feel genuinely much better since I started doing it because I feel much more in control.
I also truly believe that the worst that can happen is an emotion.
Be okay with your emotions and… Other people’s too!!
And this is the whole point of this episode!!
First, be okay with having emotions yourself. I showed you how I process “stress”.
It’s okay to have all kinds of emotions.
You are perfectly normal!
Then and this is amazing to realize, let also other people feel emotions, no matter if they are “positive” or “negative”.
Often, we want to influence what people are thinking so we can control what they are feeling!!
We want our partner to always feel good and never suffer!!
We want everyone around us to feel good all the time.
But sometimes, just like I felt stress, people feel negative/uncomfortable emotions and that’s okay.
So, I want you to really pay attention to that today (and tomorrow and the next days!!).
When you try to “fix” someone, when you want them to feel better, of course, it’s coming from an amazing place, you really want them to feel good!
But realize that it’s okay they feel bad. Nothing has gone wrong. It will pass for them too!
Let them (and yourself!) live a full life, having positive AND negative emotions.
It’s the way things are so let’s stop resisting it!
Be okay with YOU having all sorts of emotions and okay with OTHER PEOPLE having all sorts of emotions.
