You can believe anything that you want!
Are you interested in getting some specific results in your life? Succeeding in your career? Finding the love of your life? Live a fulfilled life?
The benefits are that you will get all of what you truly want, no matter how hard it is.
And when it comes to go and get it, you need to have beliefs that help you achieve it. You need to tell yourself stories that are supporting what you really want out of life.
How you do that? By discovering what do you want to believe!
Let’s get this party started! 🙂
What do you mean by “believing in something”?
Great first question!
When I say “believing in something”, I mean that we all have dreams for our life.
We all want something to happen: a great job, a great family, a great hobby, a great life full of travels maybe, no matter what, we all want something in particular.
And for this to happen, we believe (or not!) that we can get them.
We believe (or not!) in one or multiple ways to go and reach those dreams.
For example, you really dream of having a longlasting relationship with someone. This is your dream.
And what are you believing about that? What are you telling yourself?
You can say “I believe that I deserve to love and to be loved” or maybe “I believe that it’s not necessarily for me, as it seems because I never had a long relationship before”.
I’m not saying that these beliefs are good or bad, I’m just saying so far that you probably have a dream and that you probably also have beliefs about the way or even the possibility of reaching this dream or not.
This is what I mean when I say that you are “believing in something”.
The question here will be: is it supporting you, is it helping you in reaching your goal?
What do you need help with?

Why is it important to “believe”?
Just before I’m diving into this, I’m not talking about “believing” in religion.
You can have these beliefs, but here I’m more talking about in general what you’re believing that will happen and what you believe about yourself.
Okay so, why is it important to believe?
To me and as I always see in other people’s lives, having beliefs can be reassuring.
It helps in knowing what is good or not good (having a career is good and not having a career is…less good!) and it also helps in reaching what we really want (I know that I can be very successful making this presentation!).
So, beliefs are definitely essential and they can help you in getting what you want out of life.
What can be hard when it comes to believing?
The problem with believing is that it can be very hard to believe in yourself for example, and to actually 100# believe in that belief! You know what I mean?
For instance, if all of your life, you’ve considered yourself as a mediocre writer, it can be hard when it comes to believing that you are good enough to write this story and that people will actually enjoy it!
And let me tell you that this is 100% understandable! 🙂
Now, we “just” need to work on the belief about believing! 😉 I’m saying it like this, kind of laughing but actually, it’s true.
If you want something specific out of this life (if you have a specific dream), you will need to first have beliefs about the fact that you will succeed and also, to truly believe in that beliefs!
Does that make sense? 🙂
Also, it can be SO HARD believing in something when we actually have no proof AT ALL that it may work!! It’s very challenging because we usually believe in things that we know can bring results!
This isn’t easy at all but ask yourself… What do you have to lose, to believe in something?! No matter what it is that you want?
“Wanting to believe in something and really believing in something”
This is soooo interesting!!
It isn’t the same wanting to believe in something and actually believing in it!
I like to compare this with affirmations. It’s amazing the power that affirmations have! I remember using them a lot when I had a morning routine 2 years ago. And I still have a Pinterest board about positive affirmations!
But an affirmation isn’t going to work if you don’t believe in it. It’s exactly the same about what you’re believing!
You can try it with any beliefs that you have or that you want to have.
For example, I used to say “I believe that I can become an entrepreneur”. But I didn’t really believe in it, I was saying it without really meaning that I truly believe that I can become an entrepreneur.
And as I said it before, it’s not easy at all to believe in something that we have absolutely no proof that it really may work out in the end…!
How do I make myself believe?
Great question!
You first need to understand what is it that you really want to believe.
- What dreams do you really have? What are your goals? 🙂
- What do you want to accomplish?
- Who do you really want to be?
- Whom do you want to be with? What surrounding do you want for yourself?
I know that answering these questions isn’t the easiest thing to do! 😉
I’m working on “how to find your purpose in life”! 😉 This will be LIVE soon too!
Just to end this part about finding what you want to believe, the moment that you have one belief (for example “I believe that I can make that amount of money per year”), ask yourself this question:
-> When I will make that amount of money per year, how am I going to feel? WHY do I want to make that amount of money per year? What is it going to bring to my life?
And this, my friend, is the thing that will make you wake up in the morning and that will keep you going to finally GET IT! 🙂
When I started believing that I can live a life that is different from other people…
As you probably know it, I stopped being a teacher because I wanted to travel the world and to share all things personal development with others.
It wasn’t an easy step at all!!
I always felt like you need to have a career, a house, a family… And the direction that I’m going now isn’t this one at all 😉
For this dream that I had, I started having beliefs like:
- I believe that I can be happy while not doing what other people are doing (the job, the family…).
- I believe that I can make a full-time salary with this lifestyle.
- I believe that I have the knowledge to share everything that has helped me on my personal development journey so I can help others to feel better and happier with the person that they are.
I may have other beliefs but you probably already get the picture! 😉
And it’s interesting because there is no self-doubt AT ALL when I’m talking about all of this.
For example, about making a fulltime salary, I’m talking about it like it’s already done, it’s more about negotiating the details
So far, this lifestyle that I’m dreaming of, I know that it’s really what I want so it’s not even an option.
I just understand why it’s important to me to believe this, what are the consequences of this.
And it’s easy to answer to this: I want this lifestyle, I want to be my own boss, to be able to travel from everywhere and I’m creating beliefs that are supporting this dream of mine!
Think about what you want! Not what you don’t want anymore…
I just want here to add something else that may help you!
I know many people that when they want to discover what they really want out of their life, they may start by saying “I don’t want this anymore…” and it’s good, but knowing what you want INSTEAD is even better!
So, try to figure out what do you want instead?
I used to say “I don’t want to be teaching in these conditions (without enough of personal development!)” so I asked myself “okay, this is the reality, so what do I want instead of this?!”, this is very POWERFUL! 🙂
What is the downside of believing in something?
Absolutely nothing’s wrong with believing in something!!
You can believe in anything you want!
And we humans are so lucky when you think about this because we get the chance to think about things! And our mindset and the thoughts we have are so POWERFUL that it can create anything that we want!
When you think about it, everything that is around you what imagined in the first place! And someone believed that it may help or be the solution to a problem!
When the cup was created, someone believed that it may help to drink! Someone who created money probably believed that it will be a great solution when it comes to exchanging goods! My examples are quite original ;), but remember that everything was believed and so you can believe anything to make your life extraordinary so you can be fulfilled!!
As you can see, nothing will happen if you believe in something!
To sum up!
So, I want you to ask yourself: what do you want to believe?
And here I want to add something about the circumstances.
I remember Natalie Bacon and Brooke Castillo saying that circumstances are neutral in life.
You get to choose how to react to them. So now, in this fabulous topic that is believing, I want to tell you that: no matter what are the circumstances, you get to choose what you want to believe.
So, what do you want to believe? Tell yourself beliefs that are supporting what you really want out of life! You have nothing to lose! Outside of time, if you don’t! 🙂
