You probably read in many places “find your why” or “find your true passion” without being 100% sure of what that means?
I felt that too, you’re not alone!
This is why today, I want to help you figure out what is the one reason for you to wake up in the morning.
But also, I’m going to talk about the pressure that you might feel when it comes to finding your purpose in life.
Let’s have a look at all of this so you can start a life that truly fulfills you starting today! 🙂
What is a life purpose or passion?
Many people would say that a life purpose or passion is your reason for waking up in the morning, it’s your “why”, you’re waking up in the morning.
Can you think of something?
It’s something that can bring you fulfillment, contentment and inner peace while doing it.
You may hear that it’s the “compass” to your life, it’s the direction in which you’re going, the one through which your values are aligned, that you’re doing “what you’re supposed to”.
There are also people that may call it “a contribution” to the world. Or in another word: your gift to the world.

Why is it important to find your purpose in life?
As you probably know what I would answer to this, first of all, it’s essential to get to know yourself better! Why?
So you can be more comfortable being who you really are! It’s exactly like at home! You probably feel great at home because you know where are things, you feel “at home”, so it’s exactly what’s going to happen if you know yourself better and “make yourself at home” inside of yourself! 🙂
This may sound very poetic sometimes, I know!! 😉
So when you talk about finding your passion & purpose in life, it’s about going in the direction of a life that really fulfills you. This is why it’s important to find your purpose in life.
What is people’s purpose in life?
This is a legitimate question!
There are many examples of people’s purpose in life:
- A job
- A hobby
- A charity/volunteering activity
- Having and raising children
- Saving the planet/any other environment helping activity
- Traveling the world
- … so much more! 🙂
These are just examples of course, if you can think of something else, feel free to do so! 🙂
How to find your purpose and passion in life
As we said it, your purpose or your passion can be “the one reason why you wake up in the morning”.
It’s possible to have multiple purposes or multiple passions in life!
To find out what are they, or what is it, ask yourself these questions and think about it, you don’t need to find the answers right away! 🙂
1. If you would be “financially independent”, what would you do with your time?
What I mean by this is, if you had enough money to live (if you ask people, a lot of them may say that they work just for the money…), what would you do with your days?
2. Looking back at your life, how do you want to be remembered?
I love this one! 🙂
It’s a powerful question that makes you realize what deeply really really want…! 🙂
3. On what topic could you read TONS of books and not getting tired of that topic?
I would say personal development without any doubt! I could read so many of them (the good ones, of course!) and always think “why didn’t we learned this at school?!”
4. What did you like doing as a child?
This question can be also very revealing! 🙂
5. Can you picture yourself 10 years from now? Where are you? What are you doing? With whom?
I just want here to reassure you that, it’s okay not to have a complete and clear answer to that question!
Just try not to overthink it!
6. What moments in your life really make you happy, make your life “worth it”?
I would definitely say the moments with the people that I love!
Add some nice food too and you get the best moments ever for me! 🙂
7. What are others saying about you?
This is an amazing question because most of the time, we have absolutely no idea!
I remember that during my life coaching training, we were asked to ask 3 people we know what are we good at.
And it was an amazing experience! 🙂
At first, I was very embarrassed by asking others! And in the end, people were so happy helping and answering, it was really great!! 🙂
Try it out!!
8. What is annoying you and frustrating you in this world? Where would you like to see changes in this world?
An interesting question that can really make you want to bring a change!
It goes with this quote that I love “be the change that you want to see in the world!”.
9. “WHAT IS TRUE ABOUT YOU TODAY THAT WOULD MAKE YOUR 8-YEAR-OLD SELF CRY?”
I took this question from Mark’s Manson article 7 STRANGE QUESTIONS THAT HELP YOU FIND YOUR LIFE PURPOSE.
It looks like he’s screaming, but he’s probably not, or is he? 😉
It’s a very interesting question.
Mark is saying that there might be things that you used to do being a kid but that now, you wouldn’t do being an adult.
What could it be?
I remember that when I was a teacher, a kid told me one day that “you adults are taking yourself too seriously” and I remember that he added something about the fact that we don’t play anymore.
He’s so right!! 🙂 That could definitely make our 8-year-old self cry!
Your life purpose statement
Now that you know (or that you’re on the way of getting to know!) what your passion or your true life purpose is, you can then create your life purpose statement.
It may go like this:
“My life purpose is to raise happy and wonderful kids.”
I really like how Hugo from Track Happiness says in his article What Is Your Purpose In Life (Actual Examples and Answers), gives the example of a life purpose by sharing Michael Arnold’s life purpose:
“My purpose in life is to solve problems by changing the status quo”.
If there is something that you want to change in the world, then this life purpose could be the one reason for you to wake up in the morning! 🙂
The pressure behind finding your purpose and passion in life
I also really wanted to talk about this.
It’s also possible not to have any purpose or passion in life.
I mean, for example, I just LOVE to sit with the people that I love and to share drinks or a nice meal together!
I would definitely say that this is my favorite moments in life, and it might sound selfish because it’s not charity or volunteering or raising a kid, but if you would really ask me, that’s what I would say!
My purpose and passion in life are to hang out with people, share opinions, laugh and have a good time.
I don’t feel like I’m here for a certain reason, but to enjoy my time here and to have fun with others! 🙂
I used to feel a lot of pressure on finding a hobby or a “mission” or a “reason to wake up”!
I think that’s great to have one! But if you don’t, it’s REALLY okay too! 🙂
Just embrace what you may find while answering the questions listed above, but do not overthink it! 🙂
And if you feel like you absolutely need to find it and you don’t really know how/what to do next, talk to me! 🙂
I’m there for you and will happily talk about it with you!
Your self-confidence and finding your purpose and passion
Finding your purpose and passion can help you realize what truly matters to you!
As I just said before, you don’t need to put yourself pressure on. You don’t need something extraordinary to be your purpose or passion!
Just discover what really makes you feel amazing doing it! 🙂
Why is it related to your self-confidence?
First, it’s already amazing to discover what makes you happy and vibrate! Then, the more you’ll do it, the more you’ll feel connected with this deeper part inside of you! The one that knows what truly fulfills you and makes you happy.
Being connected to your most authentic self can only help you build your self-confidence! 🙂
So, hopefully, these questions helped you and on the way, helping you in building your self-confidence! 🙂
To sum up!
As you can see, finding your passion & purpose in life is optional! 🙂
Asking yourself these questions can help you in getting to know yourself better and maybe find the one reason to wake up in the morning.
But you don’t NEED to find this reason to live a fulfilling life! I also want you to consider this and hopefully, this might take a bit of pressure off your shoulders! 🙂
To your life purpose or passion in life! 🙂
