Who is Nadalie?

Among so much that she’s offering, she has an amazing planner that I myself used to set new goals and to slay them!!

Why the topic of setting goals?
A few years ago, she found out that a lot of her readers have goals and dreams, all the things that they want to do, but that there is a disconnection between wanting to do it and not taking action.
She’s so right! She says that: “You can set goals but unless you actually take steps towards it, it’s never gonna happen”.
The tip from the expert to achieve your goals
Nadalie says that the very first step is “getting in the heart of the matter”.
Some people call it “the why”, she calls it “intention”.
It’s about asking yourself:
- Why do you want to set this goal?
- Why is it so important to you?
- How is it going to change your life?
And around the new year, so many of us set goals based on this get rich, get fit cliche goals and it’s okay if those are your goals, but there has to be something really deeply personal in it for you!
Goal slaying = riding a roller coaster!
If you think about goal setting as a roller coaster, this is what’s happening.
You get on that ride and you’re getting super excited when it’s clicking to the top…
You say to yourself: “It’s the new year! I got this!! I’ll change my life!”
Then, when you get to the top and you see the insane drop, you might be like “What? Do I want this?!” “I don’t know… I have to go to the gym?!” or “I have to put myself out there? I’m uncomfortable!”
And you’re really like “Get me out of here!”
Unless you dig deep in those moments, you’re not gonna make it down the first drop!
And some of us make it through the first drop, but the problem is that there is another hill and to get out of this, it takes perseverance and commitment…
And unless there is something that you know and are deeply connected to, inside of you, why this is so important, you’re not going to keep going, you’re gonna give up! 🙁
You why, your intention, this is what keeps you going! It gives you motivation.
And even if you don’t achieve your goal to the fullest extent, for example, you want to demolish your debt and you only pay off half of it. That’s okay! You can still gain confidence from that and it’s going to help you keep going the rest of the way for sure! 🙂
What do you need help with?
(Choose between the 2 options)
You don’t need to reach for your goals right away!
Sometimes, we may think that “we need to be all in”, that every situation is black and white.
For example, you can be unhealthy and on your way to healthy at the same time!
You can exist in both at the same time! You need to take action and to give it some time.
We can be very impatient sometimes and we might burn out by trying to do too much!
Tiny steps are all that it takes to start! 🙂
What is Nadalie’s why? Her intention?
Nadalie says that a few years ago, when she started It’s All You Boo, her goal was to be free.
And it’s not about not to have to work, because she loves what she’s doing!
But in the beginning it was more of a freedom to be herself, a freedom of speak in her own voice, a freedom to just not feel like “I have to conform or be who this boss wants me to be” and that’s why blogging was a good fit for her.
She reassured me and said that she does have downs all the time and the one thing that she reminds herself is “hey, even if you’re not at these crazy big goals you set for yourself yet, you are somewhere, you are free to be yourself! (And free from commuting too!;) ).
So, her goal is still to be free, it’s just that her definition of freedom is just expanding…
Fascinating, right? 🙂
She’s the example of someone who sat down, discovered what her goals were (and her intention) and achieved them the right way!!
The power of setting an intention instead of a goal
Nadalie says that even before you set a goal, set an intention. An intention is about the “now”.
Let’s say you want to get healthy, you can decide that when you’re eating this fruit, when you’re going out of a walk, at that moment, you are healthy!
It’s a way of bringing your aspirations to the “right here, right now”.
Intentions could be a totally different topic for a post/podcast episode! 🙂 I already loved what Nadalie says about it… It’s really your “why”, what will help you keep on pushing when it may get hard…!
How setting goal is related to building your self-confidence
No matter what your goal is, if you’re just getting started, you may be nervous and feel like “Oh can I really do this?! It’s too hard!”, these are all normal thoughts that we all have.
By achieving a small win, it’s already helping you build your self-confidence!
Let’s take the example of getting fit.
Go for a walk every single day for a week.
That should make you feel amazing and next week, you’re already more confident.
The more you achieved and the more confident you become!
I like how Nadalie says that “Yes, you will always feel uncomfortable here and there because you have to level up! But I do believe that even if achieve something small, it does give you that little “yes, I did it so I can do something bigger!”
Right? 🙂
What’s Nadalie’s goal?
Nadalie has 2 goals.
If you sign up for Nadalie Pro Planner Masterclass, you will see her actual plan in detail for 2020…!
The first one is more on the blog-business side and it’s to make a 100k with her Pinterest course.
The other one is more on the personal side and is to get stronger.
And it’s all about being more specific, a goal you set is not only based on your principal outcome but you’ve got to break it down!
You need to discover what your strategies are, you need to think “how” you’re going to slay it.
You need to make sure there is an action out there and that you’re not just saying where you’re going.
To sum up!
I like how Nadalie concluded our amazing conversation, she says:
“Have faith in yourself! It’s hard when you’re getting started but if you want to be happy, if you want to feel successful, it all comes to YOU. It’s not your job, it’s not the things you have, it’s YOU! Figure out who you are and figure out what you want and give yourself the attention that you deserve!”
